About Me
My name is Sean Sperte (pronounced “spur-tee”). I’m the Director of Web Ministries at The City Church and Generation Church in Seattle, WA. In addition to overseeing the web ministry, I’m also heavily involved in what would be called “technical arts”. My areas of responsibly include designing graphics, building PowerPoint presentations, managing the video simulcast network, and overseeing the technical portions of our services. I have worked for the church for 8 years.
I’m 27 years-old, and married to an incredible woman named Casey. We both work for the church, and we love what we do. It’s more than a job to us; it’s our passion and way of life.
I’m a Mac geek, and have been for most of my life. Even before my parents got their first computer, a Macintosh LC in 1990, I regularly used my grandparents’ Apple computers. I’ve owned a Mac Classic, Plus, LC, Quadra 700, Performa 630CD, PowerMac 6100/66, Motorola StarMax 5500, 17-inch PowerBook G4, 15-inch PowerBook G4 and my current 15-inch MacBook Pro (Penryn processor). I guess that explains my tendency to write about Apple.
About this site
The name for this site is a play-on-words of an old Christian hymn titled “Gentle Jesus, Meek and Mild.” I try to write about things that interest me, which are typically those of technical nature — or what some would consider “geeky”.
The site is powered by ExpressionEngine, and hosted by Myriad Network (read my review). For tools, I use TextMate and MarsEdit on a MacBook Pro. The opinions and views I publish here are my own — they do not reflect those of The City Church or its pastors.
I’ve been blogging (here) since 2005, and creating websites for over 15 years.
Offline
When I’m not tweaking websites and surfing my favorite blogs, you’ll usually find me listening to music, playing Nintendo Wii or DS Lite, with friends and family (taking pictures), or browsing the local Apple Store. I used to play the guitar, too, but that was before I realized I couldn’t sing — which ended my dreams of being a rockstar, and subsequently caused me to lose interest in playing.
Feel free to email me directly, if you’d like, or follow my Twitter feed.
